Ross’s approach

My focus is on designing an HR function which supports everyone at Leuchie House to be their best.  That involves putting strategy and systems in place, attracting the right people, and providing the required training for all to excel.

At Leuchie, our staff are our biggest asset and it is vital to continue to invest in them in the right way.  For me this means promoting flexibility across roles, and maintaining a culture where staff will go the extra mile for each other and for our guests. 

I feel lucky to have found this culture when I joined Leuchie and my biggest impact in this role will be to see that develop and continue.

Work life before Leuchie

I chose a career in HR in my final days studying law at the University of Glasgow.  I realised that I didn't want a formulaic legal career but to work in a place where I could problem solve and help others. Leuchie represents exactly the challenge I was looking for.

Before joining Leuchie in 2018, I built up experience in a variety of HR roles across the charity and public sectors. I have learned and continue to learn a lot, not just around HR procedures, but also about the importance of not treating humans purely as resources!

Life beyond work

Ask me about Malawi, mindfulness, or sporting challenges.  I love all three!
