About Leuchie House
This is a really exciting time to join Leuchie! As a charity we are dedicated to delivering a unique, fully integrated health and social care service, built around our bespoke five star quality assurance framework based on professionalism, wellbeing and customer service.
Set in the beautiful East Lothian countryside beside North Berwick, Leuchie House is a national respite centre offering short breaks to people with a wide range of long term conditions including multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s. We cared for people with 31 different conditions in 2016.
We enjoy a country house feel at Leuchie, rather than a clinical atmosphere, with the emphasis as much on social care as on health. We are at the forefront in person-centered care and offer physiotherapy and a variety of activities and entertainment throughout each guest’s stay.
The learning and development of our staff is crucial as we strive to deliver a wide range of opportunities and experiences. We are delighted to be an official partner of Queen Margaret University working together on health and social care, research and co-production.
As a receptionist at Leuchie, you will be at the heart of a lot of what goes on in the house, helping to create the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that Leuchie is so well known for.
You will be the first point of contact, welcoming guests, visitors and callers in person and by telephone. You will answer and direct phone calls, manage incoming and outgoing mail, handle petty cash and help manage guests' money. You'll also help answer questions from our guests and their carers, ensuring they get the information they need.
It goes without saying you'll have excellent communication and customer service skills. Ideally you'll have good IT skills too. You'll also be a real people-person, enjoy working with a wide range of people and creating a warm and caring first impression.
In return, we can offer you a great package of benefits, a special place to work, and a chance to be a light in the lives of people living with long term conditions.
You'll work 29 hours each fortnight on the days and times outlined below, over each two week period:
|Monday||11.30-15.30 (4 hours)|
|Friday||11.00-15.00 (4 hours)|
|Saturday||10.00-15.00 (5 hours)|
|Sunday||10.00-15.00 (5 hours)|
|Monday||11.00-15.00 (4 hours)|
|Thursday||13.00-17.00 (4 hours)|
